Happy Birthday Jennifer Lawrence! Jennifer started on television and had her first regular role playing Lauren, the teenage daughter in The Bill Engvall Show (2007-2009). She had a number of parts in film, but took attention in Winter’s Bone (2010), adapting Daniel Woodrell’s novel. Jennifer was nominated for Best Actress at the Academy Awards. Jennifer again was the focus of attention as Mystique in X-Men: First Class (2011) directed by Matthew Vaughn. She had another career defining role as Katniss Everdeen in The Hunger Games (2012) based on Suzanne Collins’ novel. Katniss is the young archer and hunter who volunteers to take part in the Hunger Games and ends up as part of the revolution against the ruling Capitol. Next, she danced with Bradley Cooper in Silver Linings Playbook (2012). Jennifer won the Golden Globe and Academy Award for that performance. She returned as Katniss in The Hunger Games: Catching Fire (2013) directed by Francis Lawrence.
In 2013, she starred in David O. Russell’s crime film, American Hustle (2013), as Rosalyn Rosenfeld, and won the Golden Globe for Best Supporting Actress. Jennifer appeared again as Mystique in X-Men Days of Future Past (2014). She completed the last book and story of The Hunger Games in Mockingjay parts 1 and 2 in 2014 and 2015. Next she had the role of Joy Mangano, the inventor of the Miracle Mop, in the bio pic Joy (2015). Jennifer received her third Golden Globe award for the part. She reprised her role as Mystique in X-Men: Apocalypse (2016), but turned in half-hearted performance. She continued in the sci fi film, Passenger (2016) starring next to Chris Pratt. Her only fit in 2017 was Mother!, the bizarre Darren Aronofsky film. This year she played Domonikia Egorova, in Francis Lawrence’s spy movie, Red Sparrow. Happy Birthday Jennifer Lawrence!
