The Outpost, “Bones to Pick”, Review!

Talon revives after being gutted by the Demon.  She sees the Demon hold a man and speaks in her language, but the Demon kills the man and escapes.  Talon cries in despair.  She is getting closer to her destiny.  Garret has the body of Kell carried through the Outpost.  Wythers goes with Bannon to check Gwynn’s quarters.  At a cliff’s edge, Garret sets fire to ’s funeral with Gwynn.  Bannon accidentally uncovers a secret latch and opens it.  Wythers hears that the tribute music has stopped and finds a scroll and a ring.  They are discovered by Lilly.  She screams, but Whythers tries to quiet her and snaps Lilly’s neck.  This man kills more than any Demon!  Talon checks on her wounds and Janzo finds her undressing.  She needs his grey powder.  It looks like Janzo's help will keep Talon her well enough to finish her path of revenge.

The Mistress calls for Janzo and he says she can’t see much.  He goes to the tavern and she says she’s proud of finding a woman with him.  She needs him to write a letter to the Worm’s supplier.  Wythers enters with Garret to see Gwynn and General Calkussar.  He says he has talked to Lily, knows about Gwynn’s past, and sent away Lilly.  They are traitors, but Princess Rosalind who had a play mate named Gwynn, daughter of Calkussar.  Gwynn is the queen!  Garret holds his sword to Wythers, his father, who continues saying Calkussar’s wife killed herself for sacrificing the child in place of Gwynn.  Wythers wants Talon in exchange for keeping Gwynn’s secret.  Gwynn agrees.  Garret surprises Talon covering her mouth.  He tells her to leave, but Whyther’s guards with crossbows have her covered.  Wythers has Garrett cuff Talon and a sack is placed over her head.  We have Talon in another life or death situation. 

Janzo sends off the messenger pigeon.  Whythers has his prisoner and through the gate is the Covenant’s Tiberion Shek looking for the killer of Toru Magmoor.  This is the man in the black hat sent by Everit Dred.  He wants a Blackblood, but Whythers defies him.  He takes away the prisoner and Wythers explains to Garret that he is not working for the Prime Order.  Talon is in the stocks and says she wants revenge for the killing of her people.   He gives Danno the order to drop the guillotine.  The Demon breaks through and grabs Wythers by the throat.  She commands it to stop and let him go.  It’s strange that Talon would spare the life of someone who a second ago was about to kill her.  Garret breaks in, but Talon sends it away. He sees Talon’s Blackblood.  Wythers is shaken, but tells her to send it away.  Talon leaves them. She started commanding the Demon, but needs to control her fear.

Talon returns to the Smith and tells him that she faced the Demon.  He tells her that it wants her alive to bring in more Demons.  The Smith says that the opening of the portal is only passed from mother to daughter; the words her mother told her when she was a child.  She hugs the Smith and then leaves for the tavern.  Garret joins her with a drink.  He wants to know why she kept her heritage from him.  Talon feels betrayed by Gwynn and Garret.  She sees the Covenant men checking ears.  The Smith checks a blade and sees in it’s reflection, Shag, who knows him.  Shek knows that he spared Talon’s life as a child.  He takes out his sword, but the Smith is proud of saving the “One Who Remains.”  Shek runs the sword through the Smith.  This is an Obi-Wan Kenobi moment.   

Night, Talon has her sword and knifes one of the Covenant before fighting the remaining swordsman.  A nice shadowy duel on bridge.  They fall and the swordsman is killed by Garret’s crossbow bolt.  In the dark passages of the Outpost, Talon takes a torch, and Shek follows.  To other men with torches are behind Shek, one is killed by the Demon.  Shek drops his torch and goes with his sword. The last man is killed by the Demon.  The Demon fights with Shek and his sword.  He drops a gate to block the Demon and Talon duels with the man who killed her village.  Shek says the Wolf is one that killed Blackbloods and he is the Smith.  The truth is out.  Talon has to take on Shek and then deal with the Demon.
