Happy Birthday David Bowie! David Bowie was a singer, actor, and icon of style and sophistication. Music in the music video era required an image. Bowie turned it into a style with Ziggy Stardust and many other iconic images. He starred in the 1976 sci film The Man Who Fell to Earth. In 1977, he released the album, Low, which featured "Heroes." He worked with Queen with "Under Pressure" (1982). Then, he stalked the night in The Hunger (1983). David Bowie also had the number one album in the UK and US with Let's Dance (1983). Bowie had an incredible performance as Jareth the Goblin King in Labyrinth (1986).
He entered the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1996. One of his impressive roles was as the brilliant Nikola Tesla in Christopher Nolan’s The Prestige (2006). Bowie was also a voice actor playing the evil Maltazard in Luc Besson’s Arthur and the Invisibles (2005). He also voiced Lord Royal Highness in SpongeBob’s Atlantis Squarepants (2007). In 2013, we had the documentary, David Bowie - Five Years. We lost David Bowie in January 2016, but we will always see him on film and listening to his songs. He released his last album, Blackstar, in 2016. Happy Birthday David Bowie! “We can be heroes, just for one day.”
