Happy Birthday Jodie Whittaker! She won acclaim for her first film role in Venus (2006). Then, she was in the comedy, St. Trinian’s (2007), as the receptionist Beverly. Whittaker returned in St. Trinian’s 2: The Legend of Fritton’s Gold (2009). One of her first genre roles was as Samantha Adams, involved with a teen gang taking on aliens in Joe Cornish’s Attack the Block (2011). In 2011, she was in the Black Mirror episode, “The Entire History of You.”
Whittaker starred as Beth Latimer in Broadchurch (2013-2017) with David Tennant and Olivia Colman. Adult Life Skills (2016) was a comedy starring Whittaker as Anna. In 2018, Jodie Whittaker became the Thirteenth Doctor with “Twice Upon a Time” (2017). “The Woman Who Fell to Earth” began her series in Doctor Who. She was in the New Year’s special, “Resolution” (2019). In 2019, Whittaker also voiced The Doctor in Doctor Who: The Edge of Time, a VR game in the Tardis! The 2020 season has the Doctor taking on an old foe in Spyfall, she also encounted Nikola Tesla, and took on the Cybermen! Happy Birthday Jodie Whittaker!
