Now, we have the appearance of Yovanna who frees the humans in Gallwood Outpost. Garret has his sword and is ambushed by Blackbloods while a Lu-Qiri is also chasing him. He makes good use of a bucket! Still, the Lu-Qiri pulls him up by his neck. Garrett is taken to a noose before Yobahn. He is freed by Zed. Morning, they stand before Yavalla, Zed, and Gwynn. Garret with a swollen eye says it was a fair fight against the Blackblood, Kyzm. Yavalla is about to render a verdict, Talon tries to take out her sword, but is held by the Lu-Qiri. She says that it is death by drowning. Talon goes to Janzo to get help. It is a public execution, stopped by Janzo who says that he should say goodbye to Talon. She kisses Garret. On a table, Garret is flipped face down into water. Janzo chastizes Yobahn and Zed, a little too much, and walks away with Talon. Some sort of solution given by Talon’s kiss?

They hurry over as Munt gives a liquid to Garret, he begins coughing up water, Janzo had a sleeping death elixir. Talon kisses Janzo and Munt on the cheek. Then, she kisses Garret again after striking him for his foolishness. Garret and Talon are spending the night together. She leaves to tell Gwynn about Garret. Gwynn tells her to find about Yavalla’s plans. Janzo is back in his lab while Wren works. She places the box before Janzo. He theorizes that there might a world protected inside the box. The world that is the quest of Yavalla? Morning, Yavalla walks with Yobahn is called by Talon on the battlement. At the tavern, Talon questions her, she says that Talon is like her father, Sai-vek. Yavalla says he passed away in the Plane of Ashes. Gwynn talks to Zed. She wants her handmaiden back. Zed agrees, but only once a day. Wren is working at the lab when Yavalla asks for an update. She is still confused by the box. Janzo overhears them. Yavalla says otherwise the tensions with the humans will led to war! I still wonder if The Three are somehow tied to the box or what is happening at the Capital?

Wren contemplates the box when Janzo offers his help. He explains how he saved his mother from the Plagueling and that she died. The box is still a mystery sort of like the Puzzle Box in Hellraiser. Janzo finds that the symbol for tree is upside down so he discovers it's a root! Wren pours in the mandrake root and suddenly the box spews orange smoke, it opens. Wren brings in a map to Yavalla and Zed. She has contempt for Janzo's help and Yavalla sends him away. Talon is in the lower passages with Garret. He doesn't remember his mother. Garrett suspects an ulterior motive to Yavalla telling Talon about her father. Gwynn has the arrival of her handmaiden, Walita. Naya was her previous handmaiden played by two different actresses in past seasons. She needs to see Tobin and needs Walita’s help. Of course, she switches clothes to sneak over to Tobin’s barracks. She sends the soldiers away to kiss Tobin. Gwynn wants Tobin to bring an army to The Outpost. She mentions the smuggler’s route through the mines and has Munt as the guide. Tobin walks in the tavern to talk to Munt.
Gwynn in Walita’s clothes is questioned by Yobahn, he uncovers her identity, and then confronted by Captain Calkussar. They duel and Captain Calkussar only wants to protect the queen. Yobahn stabs Calkussar with his sword. Gwynn orders Yobahn taken prisoner. Yavalla agrees to the same punishment as Captain Spears. Zed sentenced Yobahn to drowning. Munt and Tobin carry torches through the mines to the wall leading to the mountain edge. He has a chain that can carry everyone past the wind gusts. Janzo and Wren are working out locations in The Outpost. They find the well, Janzo is amazed that it is the same well, Wren says the map is seven centuries old. In the woods, Munt leads with heavy hammer, with Tobin. He doesn’t want war after burying the bodies. I really like that the simple brute, Munt, is a pacificist. Janzo finds the map has led to The Smith’s home. Talon is meditating when the two bumbling scientists enter. They uncover that the sand in The Smith’s pit opens a passage underground! This show is full of twists even from the smith who was in season one! This episode leans into the romance, twists, and gets deeper into a mystery all connected with the entire show!
