Hawkeye, “Partners, Am I Right?”, Review!

Last episode, Kate is at Eleanor’s house looking at Bishop Security to find what she can on Jack, Clint walks, and then gets the Ronin sword held to his throat by Jack!  Kate screams out to Jack who steps back with the sword still at Clint, then Eleanor walks in wondering about the Avenger.  Jack realizes who it is and calls him Archer.  At the dinner table, Kate explains she was working with Clint on a case.  Eleanor gets a text that her laptop was used and asks her daughter about it.  Kate and Clint get into a fun back and forth about working together.  Eleanor walks Clint to the elevator and brings up that Natasha Romanoff was good at the job, but not good enough, deep cut.  He promises her to keep Kate safe.  

In the elevator, Clint texts his wife to check on Sloan Ltd.  Eleanor leaves a voice mail to a  mysterious person.  Clint calls Laura who tells him that the Tracksuit Mafia is working for Jack.  She also asks him in German if something else was missing from Avengers Compound like the Rolex.  The watch again which the Tracksuit Mafia was searching for in the first episode.   It really sounds Laura was a former S.H.I.E.L.D. intelligence agent, she understands her husband’s situation, can be trusted to track data in minutes, and may have retired to watch over the family.  Rumors have pointed to Mockingbird, Barbara Morse was in Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. played by Adrianne Palicki, Hawkeye marries her in the comics. It could be that Mockingbird is just a S.H.I.E.L.D. alias assumed by both women. 

Eleanor talks about Kate’s obsession with Hawkeye to Jack while Kate is on the nearby couch. She brings up the company party and dances with Jack.  Kate smiles at her rmother’s happiness.  At the apartment, Clint ties packs on his wounds, he buzzes in Kate who has brought pizza, Pizza Dog, and movies.  Kate uses a marker to lay out the players in the scheme.  Clint says he doesn’t make plans so Kate is the leader?  She brings up boomerang arrows and Clint shows her an aimed coin flick.  Kate practices and is able to do the trick.  Clint brings up the shot he didn’t take, attempting to kill Natasha, but he thought that didn’t want to be an assassin.  Kate realizes that he is the Ronin.  Clint tkes off his hearing aid and  goes over his time as Ronin and the death of Natasha.  In the morning, he says his is going to talk to Kazi while Kate finds the trick arrows with the LARPers.

He has tracked them and they are “training” while Kate walks with Pizza Dog.  Kate introduces herself and asks for help from Officer Wendy Conrad (Adetinpo Thomas).  She says that she needs to recover the trick arrows from a NYPD facility at Manhattan Bridge.  Kate has to agree to help the LARPers including Grills in exchange for the trick arrows. Kazi enters his truck at a used car lot.  Clint is in the back seat.  He knows that Kazi has been working for William Lopez and then Maya.  Clint warns Kazi about Maya’s vengeance against Ronin.  He returns to the apartment and sees the LARPers and Kate says the trick arrows are on the way. He gets a text from Laura that the Rolex was not destroyed, she has tracked it to a location, he is about to leave when Wendy enters with the trick arrows.  

Night, Clint and Kate are watching an apartment from a rooftop.  He goes over the plan, but Kate is already walking across the street, so he advises her via the earpiece.  She changes his plan and helps an old man enter the building.  Kate reaches the door and lockpicks her way in.  Lights start flashing and Kate hits them with the goop arrows.  Clint says she is looking for a vintage watch that belonged to someone he worked with, which Avenger?  Kate finds the watch, it has the auction tag, and then she sees a note page with his family on it!  He tells her to get out of the apartment, it’s a silent alarm!  It’s Maya’s apartment!  Then, Kate hears fighting on the other line. Not much action until the end, but the dual fight scenes and stunning cameo are awesome!  Is this the breaking of the partnership?  Hawkeye has shown he can’t take on all of the threats alone.  Hawkeye idles a bit at the beginning, but brings back some fun characters and has good action!
