Portman returned as Jane Foster in Thor: The Dark World (2013). Next, Terence Malick's film, Knight of Cups (2015), had Portman as Elizabeth. She directed her first film in A Tale of Love and Darkness (2015). The Western, Jane Got a Gun (2015) starred Portman as Jane Hammond. Portman took the lead role as First Lady Jacqueline Kennedy in Jackie (2016) with more award recognition. Then, she was in the Alex Garland sci fi film, Annihilation (2018). Lucy in the Sky (2019), featured Portman as astronaut Lucy Cola, disturbed by her trip to space. She returned as Jane Foster in the alternate world of “What If… Thor Were an Only Child?” (2021).
