The last issue of this comic crossover features a Mike Allred cover with Batman catching hold of Archie in the Batcopter from the Batman (1966) movie. There is a fiery R, Riverdale that is burning on a dark hill. It is written by Jeff Parker and Michael Moreci with pencils by Dan Parent. The opening page gives readers an update like the Batman television show! Our heroes pull away in the Batboat with Batman tied up. The villain revel in their victory and to the cheers of the Riverdale citizens under the control of Siren. Even worse, is the Joker swerving around in the Batmobile! At Archie’s house, the heroes are sad at Batman’s sacrifice. Jughead cheers up the gang’s spirit with a plate of Bat Burgers, I would like a nice, juicy Bat Burger. Reggie has one of the Siren Eggs used to control the adults. Dilton Doiley says he needs a supercomputer to modify it. His messenger goes off and he realizes it’s Batman.
Batman sends back that there is a supercomputer in the trunk of the Batmobile, but the Joker is driving it now! They need a distraction and Archie has a plan. Riddler and Catwoman are dancing in celebration, they are interrupted by what the Riddler thinks is the Batmobile, but it is really the roadster that Archie was working on in issue #1. Out of it, leaps Betty in red superhero suit with heart ST, Superteen? (Betty’s identity in Archie’s Super Teens), symbol. The trio of Riddler, Catwoman, and the Penguin are stunned. Then, a splash page of the heroes racing from the car, Jughead with purple suit with burger symbol (Jughead’s Super Teen identity is Captain Hero, Veronica with multicolored dress, mask, and cape, her identity as Miss Vanity, then Reggie with green suit, mask, and E symbol, Evilheart is Reggie’s Super Teen identity. Another splash page as the heroes take down townspeople including Betty and Batgirl, throwing kicks at the same time while the Joker is stunned.
While the fight goes on, Reggie with PH, Pureheart the Powerful!, orange suit and Dilton with colander on his head, head to the Batmobile, and Archie announces he is going to save Batman. I like seeing the Super Teens with the Batman heroes. Batman admires Robin’s fighting. Archie frees Batman who is a master escape artist, some rope really can’t stop him, but we see the heroes surrounded. The Joker is happy and then he is interrupted. Batman KO’s the Joker, The Penguin leads the counter attack, Captain Hero checks on Dilton. He has set up the Siren Eggs through the Batcomputer. Plus, we get Bargirl’s kick taking out Catwoman and Siren! Batman choke holds Riddler. Robin kicks Penguin and the Joker finds Dilton has broken the Siren’s song so all of the Riverdale adults have turned against them! Now, we see the adults of Riverdale getting justice, Sheriff Keller has Joker in handcuffs while his son cheers him on, Principal Weatherbee bashes Penguin with a sign, and Catwoman gets an earful from Miss Grundy. The parents apologize to their kids. There is of course one last thing from this crossover that is missing. It is there at the last page also a splash page, the Batusi! A great end to a fun comic from beginning to end! Great work by Parker, Moreci, and Parent!
