Season one continues with the twelfth episode! At the hangar of the Colossus Base, Kaz and Neeku see Synara bring up a hovercraft with parts for the Fireball. It is as if the battle from the last episode never happened. Kaz identifies the ship. They are distracted by the noise from a slimy creature that attaches to Kaz’s lunch container. Neeku pulls it away and considers it like his childhood pet, naming it Bibo. The name sounds like Beebo in Legends of Tomorrow or Bilbo without the “L.” Torra Doza had a pet, Buggles, a voorpak who was in the “Secrets and Holograms” episode, so this is just expanded and made silly. Tam complains besides the smell, Bibo eats engine parts, and attempts to eat Bucket. Yeager enters and reminds his crew not to have pets. He warns Neeku that if Bibo escapes he has to leave. Synara is contacted via holo with Kragan, the pirate captain, that the pilots are from the Resistance. Kaz interrupts them and she tells him the holo was just another salvage client. Synara takes Kaz on a salvaging run. He seems to fall for her similar to his friendship with Jace.

Bibo has escaped the box again and makes chaos in the hangar. Yeager discovers this and sends it away, but Neeku will leave with it. Tam runs after them. At sea, Synara’s hovercraft floats over the water, Kaz is tired, she asks about the identity of the pilots. She shuts down the hover lift engines and a massive sea creature is underneath them headed to Colossus Base! A giant creature causing problems like the giant lizard monkey in “Signal from Sector Six”? Did someone get paid for writing this episode? Tam goes to check on Neeku at the platform above the ocean. He collapses in tears. She gets a comm from Yeager about Engineering. He runs off to Engineering. The hovercraft is following the creature and it’s giant tentacle comes crashing down. Neeku gets help from the Chelidae, ok, not a great appearance, but this saves this episode from a lower score. The Children of Tehar have found Bibo. She wonders about them and Kel says that his sister, Ella, has dreamed of something coming. Ella points out that the creature is coming for Bibo and the whole station is in danger. This is similar to the Sando Aqua monster in the Forces of Destiny episode, “Monster Misunderstanding.”
Synara lands her hovercraft and Kaz tries to scream out a warning, but is ignored. Security droids attempt to arrest them for causing a panic. Captain Doza scrambles the aces to protect the base. Tentacles probe the station. Synara is able to close the station doors. Hype and the other Aces are taking on the creature. Tam and Neeku see the tentacle. Yeager has readied the Fireball for Kaz. He has Kaz fly to protect Bibo. It’s head turns and we can obviously see it is related to Bibo. Hype tries to send Kaz away. Bibo makes mournful sounds. Jace wants it sent away. Captain Doza authorizes missiles to strike the creature. The Aces wound the creature, but Griff’s ship is damaged. Neeku refuses to let go of Bibo, the creature’s eye sees Bibo, and he calls off the attack. Kaz tries to convince Hype and he agrees to stop the Aces from firing on the creature. Neeku says his goodbye to Bibo. Kaz gives Neeku a new pet, worrt, but Neeku doesn’t consider it a pet. The Bibo species is never identified, but it is known as a Rokkna native to Castillon in StarWars.com facts. Strange that the Colossus Base explorers never scanned the oceans properly. The ideas for this episode are completely unoriginal, but I did like the cameo by the Chelidae, and the characters throughout Season One. This is new to have a Neeku-centered episode, but still no direction for the series, spy?, racer? (kinda for Kaz here), or Resistance effort against the First Order?
