DC FanDome - Part 1!

DC FanDome starts with all of the actors who host segments in the show.  The hosts from last year’s FanDome are shown.  The first segment is on Black Adam, showing production art and a behind the scenes video.  Actors and their characters are introduced finishing with Dwayne Johnson.  He introduces a clip of the opening scene.  Flashlights are seen as explorers reach an ancient chamber.  A woman dusts off hieroglyphs and says words you really shouldn’t say, “Shazam!” Green lights glow around an area and explodes sending the explorers flying back.  All that is left is the black, cloaked form of Black Adam.  A rifle is pointed at him and Black Adam doesn’t take threats lightly.  The others are shocked and start firing automatic rifles at him.  Black Adam holds one of the bullets in his fingers.  He starts floating in the air as bullets ping off of him!  A moody beginning for the movie!  Grant Gustin (Flash) appears on screen and takes about working with the new heroes, Nora West-Allen (Jessica Parker Kennedy) and Bart Allen (Jordan Fisher).  Plus, he notes that he always wanted the gold boots that are part of the comics character.

This is turned over to the DC News Flash segments hosted by Candice Patton (Iris West).  She shows the new costume with the gold boots.  The FanDome screens show a rush of water that freezes, a long intro to Aquaman: The Lost Kingdom.  We have Jason Mamoa’s first day on the set as Aquaman.  James Wan talks about the world of Aquaman.  I hope the sequel focuses more on characters and how we as an audience can relate to them.  The first movie had 0 relatability, but it did have a crazy story and effects.  It seems like there are desert scenes and the hint of an ice kingdom.  Mera is shown, but no interview with Amber Heard. These were in the Geoff Johns run on the comic. Black Manta (Yahya Abdul-Mateen II) returns on his vengeance quest. Wan says it’s a “globe trotting story.”  Flula Borg hosts the segment on Aquaman: King of Atlantis, the new animated show.   Cooper Andrews voices Aquaman, he was in Shazam! (2019) and Gillian Jacobs, from Community!, voices Mera.  The season 2 preview is shown with Aquaman and Mera on moonlit waters.  He is mad when Mera brings up that Ocean Master has his trident.  Then, Aquaman sings about talking with the fish.

Milestone Media’s segment had Echo Kellum (who starred as Mr. Terrific) as moderator with artist and co-founder, Denys Cowan, and Reginald Hudlin, writer and director.  They bring up that Blood Syndicate will return in 2022.  Hudlin speaks about the live action film, Static Shock, is in development.  Brandon Thomas is writing the animated movie, the Milestone Media film.  The new game, Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League, is up next.  Borg introduces the video game by Rock Steady sometimes in 2022.  Cars drive to Arkham Asylum.  There is a very Margot Robbie-like Harley Quinn, King Shark, Deadshot, and Boomerang.  Waller sends them to Metropolis to fight against the Justice League!  Superman, the Flash, Green Lantern, and Batman.   Penguin is attacked by the squad and they continue shocking him.  This was a six issue limited series, Justice League vs. Suicide Squad.  The Flash, Wonder Woman, or Superman can defeat the entire squad in seconds!   Then, Borg talks about King Shark which leads to clips of The Suicide Squad, a kind of remix of King Shark’s scenes.  He introduces Idris Elba, James Gunn, Margot Robbie, and John Cena.

Then, we get John Cena’s intro talks about the Peacemaker series features Vigilante.  Gunn introduces executive producers with the cast including Danielle Brooks (Leota Adebayo) and Freddie Stroma (Vigilante).  Safran said, “James wrote eight episodes, he directed five of them.”  Peacemaker says he was put into prison for being a superhero.  It looks like T.D.K. is in the show.  In his garage, eagley puts his wings around Peacemaker and he is excited that eagley is hugging him.  Gustin introduces Superman shows, Tyler Hoechlin (Superman) and Elizabeth Tulloch (Lois Lane), behind the scenes look at season two of Superman and Lois, Tulloch notes that this was the first day on set.  Tulloch and Alex Garfin tours the house set. Bitsie notes the kitchen drawers that each cast member has items.  Bitsie likes a family photo.  Garfin likes the camera prop.  Bitsie notes the living room had her favorite scene, the paint fight.  Hoechlin then intros Supergirl.  “A Farewell Tribute to Supergirl” with Melissa Benoist and the  cast.  Benoist’s favorite was “Slaver’s Moon.”  Bitsie introduces the animated series, My Adventures with Superman, character designs plus a full color cel.  Jim Lee updates on the Superman comics. Lee notes the new logo, “Truth, Justice, and a Better Tomorrow.”  So Superman wants to strive for the 1986 John Woo action film?

Next, DC League of Super Pets.  Krypto flies in with the logo with Dwayne Johnson and Kevin Hart as Ace, the Bat Hound, it notes that the trailer drops on November.  Matt Boomer plays Negative Man and shows the strange world of Doom Patrol in the end of season 3.  The cast is shown.  Ezra Miller shows the empty set of the Flash.  Barry West heads back home to save his mother which was in Flashpoint.  He makes the Flash ring.  There is the cowl of Batman as he walks up.  Barry pulls a cover from a vehicle which is spoiler?  Patton introduces the Sandman Netflix series including Gwendoline Christie as Lucifer.  Injustice, the animated film is previewed, of course based on the video game and comics.  All of the mediums are used to show the movie.  Ed Boon, co-creator of the game and Mortal Kombat, Justin Hartley, voice of Superman, are interviewed.  Hartley says Superman is “without flaws”, a wrong assumption IMO.  Boon notes the super moves of the game are in the movie.  Anson Mount, voice of Batman, calls Superman, “the invincible boy scout”, again wrong.  There is some breaking announcements, fun with the superhero actors, and more in the DC FanDome!  To be continued!
