Happy Birthday Julie Andrews! She of course is known for stage and film, and became popular with My Fair Lady (1956) and Camelot (1960), but was only nominated for Tonys!, also a great presence on tv with Roger and Hammerstein's Cinderella (1957), of course she won the Academy Award for her role in Mary Poppins (1964), the great story of the making of that film is in Saving Mr. Banks (2013), and then Julie Andrews won all of our hearts in The Sound of Music (1965), really based on those two roles she is treasure, "practically perfect"!
She was also a great dramatic actress starring in 1966's Hawaii based on the James A. Michener novel, she won Emmys for The Julie Andrews Hour (1972-1973) which lasted one season, she returned to Disney films with The Princess Diaries (2001) and sang in the second film, also narrating Enchanted (2007), Julie was also known for her voice work with Shrek 2 (2004). Now, she has a Netflix series, Julie's Greenroom. Emily Blunt is continuing the role of Mary Poppins in the sequel Mary Poppins Returns on December 19th! Happy Birthday Julie Andrews!
