The Simpsons short, The Good, The Bart, and The Loki, is just fun with MCU and Simpsons characters! It runs like part of the Halloween specials and is just six minutes. The short was released on July 7th with Loki episode five on Disney+. In fact if the Loki episodes get maybe a little too heavy, the Simpsons short is perfect for you, also anyone who likes a laugh, Simpsons-style! The title shifts into different letter forms like the Loki show. Then, we get the rainbow, Bifrost Bridge which still makes me think of the toy, Lite Brite, “Lite Brite/ Makin’ Things with Light.” We pan back from Asgard and see Heimdall, Sif, Fandrall, and Thor (they don’t have talking parts). Odin (Maurice LaMarche) says that Loki is again banished to Earth.
Loki expects a big city and when Odin reveals his destination, Loki gives out a big, “Nooooooo!!” with Simpsons tongue waving, Hiddleston is very good at comedy. Plus, Odin boots Loki off of the Bifrost! Very funny! He streaks to Springfield and collides with the tree outside of the Simpson’s house. Bart comes down from his treehouse. He asks if Loki needs help and he shapeshifts into his father and then brother, half-brother. Bart invites Loki to dinner. Homer wants to know if he can turn his pork chop into two pork chops. He immediately starts to worship Loki on his knees, hilarious! Lisa complains about pork chops so Bart sends Loki after her. He transports Lisa to Asgard.
She ends up in an armory protected by the giant Fenris Wolf. Mjolnir falls down and Lisa reads the inscription. She is about to return the hammer, but it makes her muscles bulge and takes her to the Bifrost. Lisa uses Mjolnir to fly back to her house. She announces to Bart and Loki that she also brought the Springfield Avengers. Barney is Iron Man and belches, not too clever (I think it would be funny if his armor was made out of beer cans), one-armed Herman Hermann is Captain America holding a trash can lid, Patty and Selma are Scarlet Witch and Agatha Harkness, Moe is the Vision. Comic Book Guy is Quicksilver, he doesn’t have a line of dialogue, he would be perfect as Iron Man! Blink and you miss it, a guy holds up a sign “This is What Happens When Disney Buys Marvel and Fox”, ha! Ralph is Hulk. Lisa Thor takes hold of Loki, but he speaks as Bart, and uses her hammer to toss him away! Loki chuckles as Bart. He is happy when Homer finds him and has a family. Then, credit scenes have moments of the Avengers, also an end credit scene, I like the Simpsons version of Groot. Also, a nod to WandaVision! The Good, The Bart, and The Loki offers up some laughs and MCU moments that are near perfect!
Four Mjolnirs out of Five!
