The misadventures of Stitch, hunted by the shark-like drones, Stitch-Captor 1 and 2, has taken him across the country, and his travels continue Lilo & Stitch #3! Re:cap - Lilo & Stitch #2; Stitch was aliennapped(?) by the Cluster Soverign, but managed at his home in Kaua’i only escape to NY! He finds a place at the comic con, one of the most accurate depictions of a comic con!, with Kawaii Koalas and the owner! The defective stuffies have nothing wrong about them and become popular with Stitch as a mascot. Lilo has finally caught up with Stitch taken to the comic con by Jumba and Pleakley.
They tangle with the drones and Nani finds Lilo after the battle. Lilo tells her sister that Stitch is her kuleana, her responsibility. The Kawaii Koalas’ owner and Stitch has crashed the drone and Stitch has the owner to mail him away. The delivery truck leaves. Stitch opens the box and finds himself on a road by Ayers Rock, Uluru, at the center of Australia! There is even a kangaroo crossing sign and Stitch wanders towards the setting sun. He repeats, “Perfect”, sad to leave Lilo behind to keep her safe as his kuleana. The Nicoletta Baldari cover has Stitch dancing in the Outback with a trio of snakes luring him with music! Issue #3 continues with writer, Greg Pak, and artist, Giulia Giacomino.
At the Kau’i house, David and Cobra are calling out the names of their lost friends. Cobra Bubbles notics the approach of Jumba’s ship. Lilo gives a rundown of everything that happened and then bursts out in tears at the loss of Stitch. Nani hugs herr sister and David also tries to reassure Lilo. Pleakley notes that Stitch turned off his tracking device. Cobra wants to check out the comm device. Jumba says Stitch is trying to protect his family. In Australia, Stitch is about to contact Lilo, but instead kicks away a rock that bounces off a sign. He sees that the sign is warning about wild animals and scratches in a picture of himself. A snake hisses and he hisses back. The same with a camel. He sees a spider underneath a rock and lifts it up as the spider skitters away.
Stitch slams it down and is told by a casually dressed Aborigine guide, Terry not to smash things. The guide says he looks like a koala, but blue! Nice connection with last issue. Still, Terry is angry with Stitch tossing the rock. Stitch replies that the spider is okay. Terry points out Ayres Rock that has meaning for ancesotors. Stitch adds, “Malama `Aina”, the Hawaiian word for honoring the land, I really like the connection between Hawaiian and Aborigine cultures. Two tourists ae impessed and Terry points out his tour company logo on his hat. He tells them to stay on the trail. I don’t think you can go anywhere in the Outback without a guide. We see a splash page of the Outback, the sun, and animals as Stitch explains Malama `Aina.
Terry walks home and greets his daughter who is playing with a Scump plushie like the green doll that was Lilo’s companion. She says hi to Stitch and they play the day away. He has dinner with the family and then at night, contacts Lilo on his comm device. Lilo is surprised in her room, but Stitch won’t reveal his location. She brings up Ohana and he says kuleana has him taking care of her even if it means staying away. Sad. We get a split page of the two best friends, under a moon, he says he is staying with nice people. Impressive art. Stitch turns off the comm device and then Terry rushes out to save the tourists! Stitch says he wants to come along and shows Terry his four arms and green eyes.
The tourists scream for help somewhere in the rocks. Stitch uses his night vision to find them. Terry asks them what happened and the man says it was the camels that ran them off the cliff! Stitch has reached them, but the man bashes him, Stitch pulls them up from falling. He has to endure their hits as they scream “Monster!” while taking them down. The next morning, the authorities are at Terry’s home before driving off. The little daughter shows Stitch her pile of rocks turned into a figure of herself! In a splash page, three Soverign drones drop down. Stitch protects the little girl from a plasma blast, but is captured and jabbed by the drones. This forms them into modified Stitch drones! Stitch leads them away to deal with the drones with his abilities! Lilo & Stitch #3 has Stitch's journey across the world, but still found by the Cluster drones!
