It is Labor Day weekend and also happens to be Founder’s Day at Ghost Town Alive! The last day for Ghost Town Alive is tomorrow, Labor Day, which will now be taken over in Hallowen Haunt! I went to catch the 2 p.m. show of Miss Cameo Kate’s Western Burle-Q Revue. It is a lively, hoot`nanny! I caught the Westen classic, “I’ve Got Spurs that Jingle Jangle Jingle.” It was in the film, The Forest Rangers (1942) and was recorded by Gene Autry and Glenn Miller. What could plus the show is some more audience interaction beyond the hand clapping. I would have two bell ringers given out to audience members for that number. I went to the stable to see Brutus. Afterwards, I noticed a gathering.
A line of people, characters and guests walking while saying, “We’re not robbing the bank!” This was fun and went up the street, around the Calico Saloon, and then encircled the bank. It was a show. Almost all of the characters were involved. There was an explosion at the bank, a plume of smoke shot off the roof, and then there was a gunshoot while the not-robbers were taken to city hall for a trial! This turned into a nomination for leader of the Mayfield Gang! Theodora “Teddy” Delmundo put in her name to be the first woman leader of the gang. Clay Mayfield said that he was the long time leader of the gang. Dead-Eye Jackson was taken away walking backwards! There would be a gathering at the Boot Hill Cemetary later to determine the gang leader. I panned for some gold, it took a few minutes, I’m gettin’ quick at the pan! Then, I got the certificate at the Assay Office from Ms. Ophelia Cinch! A rip roarin’ day at Ghost Town Alive!
