X-Men `97 Signing at Pulp Fiction Long Beach!

Pulp Fiction Long Beach hosted a X-Men `97 signing that had many fans braving the heat to meet the talented and fun actors from the show! X-Men `97 continued from X-Men: The Animated Series and debuted on Disney+ on March 20th. It ran for ten near perfect episodes. X-Men `97 was nominated at the Creative Arts Emmys for Outstanding Animated Program today, Blue Eye Samurai won. Pulp Fiction Long Beach is located at 3925 E. Anaheim St.

It features a number of signings, Lee Loughridge, writer for Standstill and Andrew ?Robinson, the artist of the comic. Also Adam Rose, writer for Huge Detective, on September 14th and Daniel Warren Johnson, the writer for Transformers Image comic, on September 18th. Check for more info at: https://pulpfictionlongbeach.com/. The temperature reached 95 °F, but fans lined up down the street to wait for the signing that took place at 12 p.m. inside the store. The owner, Ryan, was nice enough to pass out small water bottles to the thirsty group.

Inside, there was a counter with several variant covers of the X-Men `97 comic. It is not a massive store so ten fans were let in at a time which gave everyone enough time to chat with the actors and get things signed like photos and Funkos. In the center of the store were tables, the first had A.J. LoCascio, very popular, he is the voice of Gambit. One fan, ichnob, dressed as the character! I told A.J. that he is the True Gambit, the Deadpool and Wolverine cameo was good, but “Remember It” is the best Gambit. On the left side was two tables, Isaac Robinson-Smith was there, he voices Bishop, I had missed seeing him at Comic Con Revolution so this was a nice opportunity to see him.

Next to him was Matthew Waterson, his portrayal of Magneto was powerful, and defined the character for the show not as a classic villain, but a tragic person. He had a line that was outside of the store. On the other side was Holly Chou, the voice of Jubilee, she was also Chiki on Blue Eye Samurai. There were a number of prints that was special, artists depicting moments from the show and one made from her live cast with Gui Agustini. It was tough to pick from the prints and I think it is my ambition to get all of them! Plus, Holly adds some fireworks at her signature! At the end was David Errigo, Jr. who voiced Mojo, Leech, and Gladiator for the show. I brought a Oswald the Lucky Rabbit card since he voiced the character and Oswald just had his 97th anniversary! David also had a print of Mojo which featured his art! It was great to meet the X-Men `97 actors, talking to fans, and of course returning to one of my favorite comic stores!
